Pier Luigi Nervi

Pier Luigi Nervi (1891–1979) was an engineer and builder in one. Through his own construction firm he turned ferrocemento and isostatic ribbing into roofs that read like the flow of force itself: the Turin exhibition halls, the Rome Olympic arenas, the Palazzetto dello Sport. Few engineers have matched his union of calculation, craft and beauty.
